Decent Day 43 + nearly a car crash

Decent Day 43:

FOOD:

B: 1 packet of oatmeal

Exercise: 3.5 mile run

L: salad: spinach, mahi-mahi patty, 1/2 tomato, two heaping forkfuls of blackbeans, a spoonful of light Newman's Own balsamic vinetar + 2 clementines + 1 small square of dark chocolate with mint flakes in it

D: 1/2 a sweet potato + 5 clementines (I know this is small and random; I also had soup but the soup didn't taste good so I didn't eat it beyond one bite)

S: several samples of fro yo (let's say it amounts to 4 oz)

S: luna bar, 4 clementines (yup, think I might be certifiably obsessed with the clementines)

THOUGHTS:
-I do wonder if I'm eating too much or if it's really okay to eat like this. I did feel unallowed to eat the luna bar, but i ate it anyway
-Writing this out makes me realize it's really not too much.
-I wasn't thinking it was too much until dinner on.
-I did count calories at dinner but I didn't before hand
-I really enjoyed the lunch
-I was pretty hungry for lunch and dinner
-It's night as I write this and I want to eat: I want to eat like... a bagel... or PB on bread... I don't need it though. Going to sleep would also be nice. I'll do that on the plane.

I am typing this at the airport. I'm taking the red-eye to Michigan via Minneapolis tonight... This is hilarious.. the gate guy was just like "Boarding rows... oh, whatever. just, everyone can board. all rows. just board." (lol)

I almost got in a bad car crash tonight on the high way, driving to the airport. A car in the left-most lane stopped b/c of a flat tire, causing the car behind that car to swerve. When that car swerved, they hit another car, which did a 360 and came straight at me. I had to swerve to avoid getting hit head on by the car doing the 360. Luckily, there was no car to my right, so I didn't hit a car, but I was definitely driving ACROSS lanes of the highway going perpendicular to the line of traffic, The car that was doing the 360 hit 2 other cars behind me, causing them to do 360s (I watched this in my rear view mirror). And one of the cars flipped. I had a major rush of adrenaline after that. I pulled my car over, put my flashers on, and immediately ran towards the car that flipped and the cars that had also spun out of control. I called the police and the police came and shut down all the traffic on the high way.

I had a good day. Not really much of a point to Jane's appointment. I think I'm in a place right now where I'm trying to decide what I need therapy/RD-wise.

Okay, better board....

Thinking of you all!

UPDATE: It is 5:45am Minneapolis time (3:45am CA time for me). I have just landed. Now I have a FOUR HOUR LAYOVER (I like layovers though.... you gotta admit, airports rock!) until my next flight to Michigan. Then that guy that I had posted about is picking me up and we are going running then our families are eating dinner together. Um, anyone know how the heck I'm supposed to run in Michigan? It's like negative a million degrees here and there are 10 inches of snow. For reals.

Also, lisa told me to have a gingerbread latte.... I just had one. VERY GOOD. I normally don't like chai-ish or gingerbread-ish things, but I liked this a lot. I was in the mood I guess....

I am going to buy a cinnamon raisin bagel with PB before boarding my flight and eat it in the air or when I land (before running).

Really, how do we run where there's snow everywhere? It's going to get in my shoes. Also, I'm cold just sitting in the airport... am I supposed to run with a jacket on? I don't get it....

I miss my space heater :)

  3. I am wondering how you are going to run after being awake all night? YOu are crazy!

So many exciting things happen to you. Witnessing/almost being a part of serious highway accident...fighting off muggers...ect. Wild.
i'm glad you were able to make your flight after that.
have fun in Michigan! How long will you be there? I live in iowa and it is supposed to snowstorm all week. I don't know if it will hit Michigan or not.
Last year for spring break we took a family road trip all around Lake Michigan. We crossed the Macinaw Bridge and ended up at this place called the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse city. It was so awesome! This year we are skipping the loop around the lake and going straight to the Great Wolf. It has a huge indoor waterpark and themed rooms. I think i blogged about it- would have been back in late march or early april.
Oh well sorry this comment has gotten so long. Have a nice visit!

  4. Lisa, I'll be here through Wednesday morning. I get back to CA Wednesday around 6pm ish (and then will drive straight from the airport to the fro yo store to work)

I didn't get the best sleep, but I probably did sleep 3 hours (in an airplane seat, granted...) but somehow the run ended up being exhilarating.

Your road trip sounds great! Lake Michigan is so beautiful.

  5. Wow, I am SO glad that the crisis was averted and you did not crash! It is really scary to see how quickly something like that can happen. I hope that your visit goes smoothly. Stay warm!

  6. I didn't get a chance this Friday to attend the meeting, because I got viciously sick that night, and I'm still sick Saturday night. It wasn't a virus, I have stomach/bowel issues (most likely from bulimia and whatnot), and it was one of those things. I was pretty bummed, but there was no way I could have gone. I will absolutely and most definitely be going next Friday, though, and the following Fridays, and I will post on my blog how they went. On my ED blog, too, not the other one! How's that? Think that might plant a seed in some of the other girls? I hope.

Thank you for telling me how to get to some other pro-recovery blogs. The only pro-recovery sites I have ever been aware of was http://www.something-fishy.org/ and http://www.webiteback.com/. Every time I tried to recover, I would immerse myself in these two sites, especially the "we bite back" one. Sadly I just keep falling down into my self-dug "hole" time after time again. But anyway, I will be looking into those blogs that you follow, so thank you.

And also, I want to thank you for not being one of those people who just blow me/us/whoever off by saying we're just killing ourselves and it's not worth anyone's time because we just want to be sick and all that. I think even for a lot of these supposedly "pro-ana" girls, they're blogs and websites may just be a cry for help, in the only way they know how. Not all, just perhaps some. Anyway, my two cents, and thank you.

  7. Also, that is awesome about the gate guy who just let everyone on! Did he let even the economy on at the same time as the first class? If so, I kind of have a feeling that may have gotten under their skin! :) Ha, I would have loved to have seen that!

  8. Oh my gosh!! I'm so glad you are ok! That story sounds so scary!
I'm glad you tried the Gingerbread latte, too :) One of the girls I work with is obsessed with it. I bet it's good with soy.
Anyway, I hope all is going well, and Im still excited you got to experience some snow running. [Im reading blogs in reverse].
